Using The Bible to Justify Taking Children From Their Parents
In an attempt to appeal to their base of presumably Christian supporters, the Trump administration has called its policy “Biblical”. In this article, Candida Moss of the University of Birmingham offers a scholarly rebuttal.
I would like to add the following:
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ..
(10) Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”
(Jesus, Matthew 18, King James Version)
If you call yourself Christian, you cannot remain silent. If you do nothing, you are complicit in the suffering of these children.
